The hub sets you up as a guest and opens the recording page. Record demo data or use your own USB serial adapter (Chrome or Edge).
Guest access lasts 120 minutes, with one recording at a time. Afterwards the recording and all data of the access are deleted on the server.
The hub creates a guest account without your name, your e-mail address or a password; it only carries a random identifier. Your recording is stored on the hub's server; after 120 minutes -- or as soon as you end guest access -- the hub deletes it together with the guest account. The purpose is to provide the trial recording you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
The hub does not store your IP address (for IPv6 only its /64 network) in the guest account. It uses it only in memory to limit requests and guest accesses per sender, and forgets it at the latest about one hour after your guest access ends; its own log only names the guest account's random identifier. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is that no one can block guest access for everyone else.
In your browser the hub keeps only what the access needs:
TraceHub.Auth -- becomes invalid when the access ends and disappears when you close the browser;.AspNetCore.Antiforgery.*) -- until you close the browser;.AspNetCore.Culture -- until you close the browser, for one year after choosing a language in the hub; This is strictly necessary for the service you asked for (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). The entries in the browser's storage remain after guest access ends until you delete them in its settings; without the deleted guest account they are worthless.
Who is responsible for the hub, where it is hosted, how server logs are handled, which rights you have and where you can lodge a complaint is set out in the website's privacy policy.
